Summer Wedges!!!!!

One of the best things about summer time are the shoes. I love summertime and all the options there are for shoes. I think designers out do their selves during the summer seasons!!! If your like me you love wedges, unfortunately I never wear mine which I think is going to change this summer! Steve Madden has a huge selection of wedges available on their website you should definitely check them out! Some big wedge details for the summer are straps, braids, and tribal patterns. And as always the higher the better!!!

SPRING MUST HAVES!!!!

Spring is right around the corner and I personally CANT WAIT!!!! I love the sun and the warm weather and not to mention all the super cute clothes that are in the stores. When updating your wardrobe for the spring you only need a few things that can work with any outfit. Im just gonna give you a heads up on what you need to update that spring wardrobe.

First you need to invest in a great pair of boyfriend jeans!!!!! Distressed, loose fitting, and a nice cuff on the bottom is ideal.

This pair of Levi patched and repaired jeans are perfect. And the even better part is they are currently on sale for $39.00.
http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2594868&pid=FL000000&camp=sf_google

You also need a floral dress. The length should above the knee, anywhere between mid-thigh and just above the knee. Dresses are so easy to slip on and go; they make you feel so girly.

BCBG

Next thing you need is a great trench coat. This is work over top of all of your dresses and the temperature starts to increase. Its also a good way to make your outfits more casual.

Banana Republic

A great silk tank is also really good for spring. You can pair it with your boyrfriend blazer from the fall and winter and you can also wear it with a cardigan or just by itself. This tank will also transition well into summer. Bright colors or interesting patterns bring a little life to your outfit.

Nordstrom (BP section)

And to top your whole look off you need two things; a great pair of flats and pumps. Now the best way to decide who to put on your feet is first you have to make the decision of heels or flats. Then you have to decide if your outfit is bright or neutral. If your outfit is bright you want to go for a neutral shoes, usually in grey, black, brown, or beige. If your outfit is neutral you want to go for a shoe that will give your outfit some pizazz.

The flats come in black, tan, and blue. Both pairs are on piperlime

So everyone send me your pics of you making the spring must haves work for you and I will post your pictures!!!! Happy Hunting Adios

A fresh facelift

Hey everyone!!!! So I have really been slacking on my blog recently.....embarrassing!!!! I figured I should change my approach. I am passionate about styling and helping people look great but I also have a passion for fashion as a whole. I want to talk about the things I like and get other opinions on what they like. So I am starting something a little new.

Can we first address..............

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK!!!!!!

If you were unaware fashion week was this past week Feb 11-18. My all time fav designer, Michael Freakin Kors presented his collection Wednesday. I was so excited to see what he had. Unfortunately I was very disappointed in what I saw. There was not so many things that I was interested. The best thing I saw was his infinity scarves.....which I love love love!!!! Some of my other favs were Nanette Lepore, Narciso Rodriquez, and Diane Von Furstenberg. DVF always has the most chic and girly collections. I loved the colors and fabrics she used. Lepore had a really nice color pallette and I liked that she used velvets. Rodriquez OH RODRIQUEZ!!!!! He is a genius!!! I have never seen something he has done that I didnt like. His collections are always so chic and feminine. I loved his colors of greys, black, white, and orange. I wish I could afford to buy his stuff all day!!!!

What are you guys thoughts about fashion week??

Who is your favorite designer??

What do you think the Fall 2010 must have is??

Let me know your thoughts...I wanna hear from you!!

DVF

Narsico Rodriguez

Nanette Lepore

Michael Kors

And whatever you do remember the dress makes the girl, the girl doesnt make the dress!!! So I hope everyone "makes their dress" this week!!!!

New Year.....New You!!!

Hey Hey!!!! I know it has been so very long since my last post but school and work have been extremely busy!!!! But I am now back and ready with new ways to reinvent yourself for this 2010 year. Ladies remember no matter what you put on its all about what you put out. You have to exude confidence from the tip of your thigh high boots to the top of your perfectly styled hair.

Now I know money is very tight for a lot of people so I am going to show you a great way to reinvent your look for less. Being that winter is in full effect and most are feeling the brunt of the freezing temperatures a coat is essential. There are many cute coat choices for every body type. When you walk into a room with a nice coat your first impression will speak volumes. You can go with a classic pea coat or try something a little different with a wool cape. But don't forget you want a coat that is going to flatter your figure not one that just looks great on a hanger.

**Here are a few pointers**

-Plus sized women stay away from slim belts, go for an empire waist but make sure it falls below the bust, a-line will flatter your figure creating an hourglass silhouette.

-If you are very busty look for a coat with a large collar or a lower opening that way you can bring the attention to your face and neck and add a scarf for extra warmth.

-if you are slender venture out to a boxy shape coat it will give you a vintage feel and will flatter your figure greatly.

Another great way to reinvent your style on a budget with ACCESSORIES!!!! I am an avid believer that accessories can be in instant boost in a plain outfit. So ladies buy that plain long sleeve shirt for $10 and spend the extra money on a few necklaces that can be layered. One thing to remember with accessories and jewelry is to not over do it. Focus on one thing and stick to it. Accessories area universal statement that everyone can wear and look great in.

A little SPARKLE and SHINE!!!

One thing that I LOVE and is really big this season is SEQUINS!!! You can dress them up or down. Wearing them to a dinner or an event is perfect. I love wearing sequins and I can honestly say that I have, and always will wear them no matter that the trend is. My philosophy is if you like it wear it and forget what people will say!!! Sequins can go anywhere from your jeans to your dress. I have even seen bras and panties with a few tidbits of sparkle on them. Another trend is sequin leggings, which I LOVE, my only concern with those is what is the sequins look like after all the wear of the thighs rubbing?? But at this point I DONT CARE cuz they are sooooo cute!!! As far as fitting your body type sequins can be worn by anyone it all depends on how you wear them. If you are a bigger girl and very curvy you dont want to wear a tight mini dress with sequins from head to toe. Not only will it make you look bigger but it will bring alot of attention to you which isnt what you want.

You might want to try a sequin blazer or maybe a dolman sleeve shirt (batwing looking sleeves) with sequin encrusted shoulders.

Angieheart.net Topshop.com

If you are the type with very broad shoulders and a very narrow hips you should try a deep v-neck tunic that hit right below the butt with sequins on the neckline.

hsn.com

If you are thin all over you can wear a sequin mini dress that isnt too tight but still flatters your shape.

SO HAVE FUN WITH SEQUINS!!!

Dress them up

Or dress them down!!

If you have any questions feel free to ask!!! Let me know what you think. Also send me pics of you making sequins work for you!!!! I will post your pic!!! Remember dress for your shape not the trends!!!!
